Russian push by Club La Costa 9th May 2008
Club La Costa Resorts & Hotels is strengthening its sales and marketing presence in Russia. One of Europe's leading vacation ownership and real estate developers, the company is following increased demand from Muscovites for both its vacation ownership and luxury freehold products.

And it's not just Moscow. Other major Russian cities are being targeted. Club La Costa currently has two Russian sales offices, one in Moscow and another in the fast growing city of Krasnodar, with a combined staff of 250. In Moscow the company is making its third move into bigger premises; a sales deck is being created in St Petersberg and a new exhibition centre opened in Krasnodar.
Roy Peires, Chairman and Founder, said: "We will be opening many more as time goes on. The Russian market has been an important one for us for more than 12 years, but now we are entering a period of dramatic expansion."
George Robertson, who joined the company in 2003, has been moved up to Managing Director, Russia. He will further develop CLC's rapidly expanding Eastern European operations, for both vacation ownership and real estate sales.
Through its subsidiary company Prime Overseas Property, Club La Costa has been promoting a holiday homes development in the emerging market of Turkey. But interestingly, it is the more established market of southern Spain, where the company has its central resort operations, that is attracting most interest from among Russia's emerging wealthy middle class.
Sales were recently launched of a new, private development of 30 ultra-modern, luxury townhouses: Rancho Santa Fe, to be built at the site shared with its California Beach resorts on the Costa del Sol. A second phase will offer 60 deluxe apartments.
Paul Smith, Director of CLC Estates, part of the Club La Costa group, returned from an exhibition in Moscow to say: "Interest there is really very strong, especially among existing Club La Costa members, and we have already taken deposits pre-construction."
The two and three-bedroom homes, which are offered with generous leaseback agreements guaranteeing a rental return, incorporate high tech features, with 'intelligent' systems, as well as eco-friendly ones. Set aloft with sweeping sea views, Rancho Santa Fe is walled and gated, each property having a private garden with splash pool as well as enjoying shared landscaped gardens, featuring an infinity pool from which water cascades to a pool bar.
Meanwhile, the company chairman is busy clocking up air miles looking for prime positioned land on which to develop whole ownership holiday homes, as well as Vacation Club resorts, in Portugal, Mallorca and the Canary Islands, with other developments planned further afield in, for example, the Dominican Republic and Dubai.
